Job Objective:
Work as part of a team managing the SAN and NAS infrastructure. Provide technical expertise for OS teams – from server to storage
Major Duties and Responsibilities
This position is within a team focusing on the day-to-day support of the SAN and NAS infrastructures and associated heterogeneous computing systems. A good understanding of the tools used for SAN and NAS management is required, plus an ability to deal effectively with other technical specialists and support staff.
Personal Qualifications
·Good solid SAN and NAS experience required.
·NetApp filer experience essential – preferably with knowledge of CIFS*NFS data migration procedures
·EMC CLARiiON experience desirable – with PowerPath and*or Veritas Volume Manager exposure
·MCSE (Win2000) and 5+ years practical experience in a large scale enterprise environment would be beneficial
·Any exposure to Legato NetWorker backup environments would be desirable.
·Knowledge of NDMP NAS backups an advantage.
·Any exposure to Solaris a distinct advantage.
·A thorough and practical approach to developing and documenting new practices and procedures.
